One of my favorite places is a café named “ Rome”.
The café is close to my house in Taoyuan. I love being surrounded by smell of coffee, especially when that café offers more kinds of books and magazines than the general bookstores do. Every time I visit there, I have a quick browse through the shelves in the middle of the path first. More than often, I have surprise among the displays. In fact, this cafe offers me more choices than a library does—a cup of good coffee in their menu and more comfortable space to read and think.
Furthermore, I will pay attention to the other consumers. Some of them talk about things that are beyond my imagination. It's very interesting and exciting to know there are people talking certain subjects in another way or seeing things from a point of view which is totally different from mine.
Sometimes I spent hours sitting on the seat with a book on my knee, being lost in my own reverie, or watching people in the same room. From their appearance and their interaction, I usually guess what kind of person they are. These bring me pleasure as much as in enjoying my coffee. To me, the cafe means not only a space without interruption but also a window to the world. What the cafe impresses me more is its clean and comfortable washroom. The long mirror there is always spotless and no uncomfortable smell worms into your nose while you walk into the room. What's more surprising, the cafe washroom provides a special toilet caps with beautiful picture. That means the bookstore respects its customers' need. The cafe really makes you feel like coming home.
I only go to that cafe on weekends. The most enjoyable time is in the morning. All you have there are beautiful music and books waiting quietly for you. It is my secret garden.
