Today I ate dinner with my friends in a restaurant.Because my friend came to visit me. He was my best friend during junior high school.He had grown more handsome and he dressed just like a model.I was so surprised. And we had a happy time.

Today a professor told us that the unemployment rate of undergraduate students is getting serious.

I think one major problem with young adults' job hunting is the trend among job hunters to prefer service jobs. Many young people looking for work are more interested in jobs that pay well and easy to do. Service jobs have become increasingly popular with the younger generation.

It is a big problem, but I don't have the idea about how to solve it.

Gays marriage

• I don’t think it is correct. Gays and lesbians are not criminals. They have their right to look for their love. “don’t-ask, don’t-tell” policy usually hurt and smear their reputation. This treatment is rooted in the callous attitude of Chinese culture towards homosexuality. Many people snub the gays and lesbians due to they regard homosexuality as sick. But it is wrong.
• In 2004, the government of President Chen Shui-bian included a provision allowing gay couples to "found a family and adopt children" in a broader human rights law that also calls for the gradual abolition of capital punishment. I think the provision to strengthen Taiwan's democratic and human rights. This legislation is helpful for gays and lesbians. Unfortunately, I don’t see any process in law and policy about this social movement of improving gays and lesbians treatment by current President Ma’s administration. So I think the situation is not different now.

ISSUE: About regular exercise

Today I decide to begin jogging every weekend.

Regular exercise helps us burn extra calories. But it is difficult for me to choose a suitable exercise. The gym is too expensive for me. The room of dormitory is too small, so I can not exercise there.

On the other hand, I need a better pair of shoes for jogging. Otherwise, a unsuitable shoe may hurt my feet and knees. But the new shoes are expensive. It is a trouble problem.

I went to Taipei City

Today I went to Taipei City.

An American asked me directions on the Nan-yang street. I was so excited and so nervous that my mouth became dry and couldn’t utter a word. Due to my capability of English conversation is poor, so I tried drawing a map for him. I think he can use my map as a useful guide.

I am happy for helping another person.

ISSUE:About a serious law against smoking

Today I read a report that a serious law against smoking will be practiced next year. I support this law.

Cigarette is proven by most medical researchers to be harmful to people’s respiratory organs. Meanwhile, the secondary smoke found in a restaurant or the other public places has been proven to be equally harmful to the nonsmokers who happen to be in the same room.

Therefore, passing a law is an effective way to protect nonsmokers in public places from secondary smoke. In the future, few places allow people to smoke under the new law. But I worry the government lacks manpower to execute the law everywhere.

Today I saw some boys watching the old game of NBA.

Watching games can enrich our leisure life and make our life more enjoyable and meaningful. My brother told me watching the NBA games is a exciting experience for many people, especially the finals. But if a person spends too much time watching games, it will affect his health and work, I think.

Today I begin to jogging.

Sport is not only physically beneficial but also mentally challenging. The sport setting is one where valuable experience can take place. But there is few sport fields is suitable for female students in our school. All basketball fields are occupied by boys. It is too cold for me to swim in winter. Therefore, jogging is the only option I can choose.

Because I did not run regularly in past, I ran for a short distance. I felt tired, but comfortable.

Today I saw a ad about the classes in a community college in Hsing-Chu City. There are many different classes, such as English conversation, cooking, dancing, Japanese, panting and so on.

Actually in modern society, people have to keep on learning for a life time. And we are never too old to learn. Indeed, there is always an ideal time to learn a particular skill in community college. Although we can not earn formal degree there, we can open our view, learn interest skills and meet new friends.

I hope have time to learn more interest classes in the community college.
