Plagiarism is a serious offense in any forum and is also a very serious problem within our society. I think we should punish the person who was plagiarize. If she or he are a student, we can gave him or her a disciplinary Warning. To do 40 hours of community service is ok. It can gave him or her a chance to improve a mistake. But if he or she still make a plagiarism, we can't tolerate their mistakes.

I agree. 40 hours of community service seems quite reasonable as part of a punishment because it would be a powerful deterrent. Sometimes teachers are too lenient I think.
